  — Weapon Description

The AK-107 Wolf is an automatic assault rifle used by rifle men, and is available for permanent purchase in the in-game shop for 250 red tickets for soldiers of any rank. It is an upgraded model and custom variant of the AK-107bis, featuring a metallic blue coating, and a wolf's visage set against an icy background covering the main body.

Overview

The AK-107 Wolf sees huge improvements over its predecessor, with a massive increase in range, and a lesser increase in accuracy and rate of fire. Due to the increase in range, overall armor penetration has been increased, and each bullet maintains its damage over a longer distance. Accuracy drops very quickly when not scoped in, but the inaccuracy can be postponed by walking or crouching. By scoping in you can dramatically increase the accuracy and stability of the weapon.

Due to the outstanding stability this weapon has, you should have very little trouble entering fully automatic fire in both short and medium ranges as long as you're scoped in. For ranges longer than about 20 metes, three or four-shot bursts are preferred in order to keep the recoil low. The AK-107 Wolf won't reach its maximum recoil level for a considerable amount of time, so expect to be controlling the kick for as long as you're firing. Inaccuracy may start to become noticeable after roughly five rounds.

Since this weapon has minimal upward recoil, horizontal recoil can become much more apparent if you don't let the weapon cool down occasionally. Therefore, during automatic fire, shooting in smaller bursts or taking cover occasionally can be advantageous. The AK-107 Wolf can deal over half a target's health with a head-shot at close range, or can finish a sniper in a single head-shot at point-blank range. It is still capable of dealing up to half health at distances of 30 meters.

Though shots cause armor to degrade slowly, the rate at which it degrades is consistent over the entire body and most ranges (the drop off is around 40 meters). Damage is also consistent, dealing very similar damage on all parts of the body between 0 and 30 meters. If you're faced against a point man or rifle man, you should aim at the center of the body and continue fire as long as possible. Against snipers, you should aim for the neck due to head-shots racking up damage significantly quicker.

Recommended Builds

Optimal Build

  • Dot (x2 HS) (+3 range)
Damage Range Accuracy Stability Mobility Fire Rate Ammo
35 58 (+3) 63 67 45 58 30

This is the recommended set-up for most situations. The dot (x2 HS) mount provides the fastest possible scope-in time and best accuracy for this weapon. Since you're advised to scope at distances past 10 meters, speed is essential since you'll be required to act quickly. The magnification is reasonable enough to remain scoped in if you aren't required to run. If the target is at a close or medium range, you can quite comfortably enter fully automatic fire while crouching. Otherwise, you should burst in three or four-shots.

Long-range Build

  • ACOG(x4) (+6 range)
Damage Range Accuracy Stability Mobility Fire Rate Ammo
35 61 (+6) 63 67 45 58 30

The ACOG(x4) mount is not recommended for the majority of situations due to its high magnification and slower scope-in speed. However, if you are playing on a map that is significantly larger (where snipers may have more of an advantage), this mount can be feasible in order to more accurately aim at targets. Unfortunately, since the ACOG(x4) suffers in close and medium ranges, you may have to stick to crouching and two or three-shot bursting if you find yourself stuck in these situations.

Notable Comparisons

SG556

SG556

Damage Range Accuracy Stability Mobility Fire Rate Ammo
39 49 88 41 50 53 30

The SG556 shares a lot of traits with the AK-107 Wolf, namely its large accuracy and average damage per second. The SG556 will become very inaccurate very quickly if you're not crouching or scoping in, but takes a considerable amount of shots to become unstable. While the SG556 has more damage than this weapon, its range is a lot smaller, which means the overall damage output at longer ranges is very similar. Despite how much these two share, the AK-107 Wolf's ability to move-shot and enter automatic fire for longer arguably makes it superior.

K2 Rail

K2 Rail

Damage Range Accuracy Stability Mobility Fire Rate Ammo
36 45 75 60 47 48 30

The K2 Rail shows some similarity to the AK-107 Wolf, but doesn't have such a dramatic accuracy drop when not scoped in. However, the damage output is quite a lot lower than this weapon's due to the lack of fire rate. The K2 Rail is a rather outdated weapon now, so some of its newer variants, such as the K2 Amur Tiger or the Wild Howling, may perform more on-par with the AK-107 Wolf. Either way, both of these weapons were designed to perform their best at medium ranges – where point men (and occasionally snipers) are unable to effectively out-gun you.

Tips

If you would like to create your own tip, please make sure you read the example usage for the tip template first.
• Since the accuracy of the AK-107 Wolf will get out of control very quickly, you should scope in as often as possible, preferably with the dot (x2 HS) mount. This results in much tighter shot grouping, and can be enforced by crouching and bursting in three or four-shots when firing at long distance.

• The AK-107 Wolf will take a while to reach its maximum recoil level, so you should always be prepared to counter this. Using the dot (x2 HS) mount at close or medium ranges means you won't have to put so much effort into doing so, even when engaging in fully automatic fire.

• Due to the AK-107 Wolf's ability to spray while scoping, you can effectively secure kills at close and medium ranges by using automatic fire. Take cover regularly or revert to bursting if the horizontal recoil becomes too apparent. At larger distances, you should burst in smaller amounts.

Trivia

If you would like to add your own trivia, please make sure you read the example usage for the tip template first.
• As of the 22nd of November, the AK-107 Wolf, costs 220 red tickets, placing it at the same price as the XCR Ignis. Taking the cost of other red ticket weapons into consideration, this places it near the top, along with some of the currently more competitive weapons.

• The AK-107 Wolf shows massive improvements over the AK-107bis. Range, accuracy, and rate of fire have all been improved, with range seeing the most dramatic increase. This weapon comes default with the 1.5x magnification scope, and can be upgraded to a 2x or 4x magnification.

• Sharing the same animations as the AK-107bis, the AK-107 Wolf is one of the few weapons that shows flare while reloading; your character flips the ammunition clip into the air before catching and loading it into the weapon. This is currently not visible to other players.
