“ | [Taurus Raging Judge 28] A revolver-style shotgun that uses 28-gauge ammo. It has a very heavy frame, but makes up for it with exceptional force in close combat. | ” |
— Weapon Description |
The Raging Judge 28 is a semi-automatic revolver, usable by any soldiers of any class as a secondary weapon. It was available for permanent purchase in the in-game capsule shop mystery box and via the on-line item mall. It is an original as opposed to an upgraded model and/or custom variant; a short, light model, and is based on the real-life weapon of the same name.
Overview
Despite being a secondary weapon, the Raging Judge 28 holds shotgun rounds, and as such, you can expect shotgun-like performance. Its high potential damage is less effective at longer ranges, but the accuracy and consequential shot grouping is favorable considering its potential. Despite the focus of this weapon very much being on damage, the fire rate is also forgiving which can be useful when attempting to accumulate damage efficiently at mid-range or quickly at close range.
The Raging Judge 28 allows for an advantage in sniper-only maps due to its fast draw speed and one-shot potential. Despite this, it has an expected deficiency in armor penetration and suffers from significant recoil. By factoring in this weapon's weaknesses, you may find that it forces an active play style, and as such, snipers utilizing this weapon may find themselves equipping higher powered rifles such as the FR-F2 to enable versatility within different scenarios.
The Raging Judge 28's most noticeable shortcoming is its low ammunition, which isn't helped by its long reload animation. You are therefore strongly advised to keep your clip as close to fully reloaded as possible whenever you expect to encounter an enemy. At close range, you should aim for the head as the damage dealt is much more significant, resulting in both faster kills and better conservation. At mid-range, aiming for the center of the body reduces shell loss.

Notable Comparisons
Winchester M1887S
Attack | Range | Accuracy | Control | Auto Fire | Capacity | Mobility |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
29.1 (-7.1 – 2.9) x 6 | 26.4 | 58.5 | 26.0 | 1.00 | 3 | 90.1 |
The Winchester M1887S, prior to the release of the Raging Judge 28}, was the only secondary weapon available that fired shotgun rounds. In this regard, these two weapons share a very similar play-style. Both weapons have high potential damage which is most effective at close range, and a large initial cross-hair but a forgiving drop in accuracy during prolonged fire. Due to the lack of armor penetration, aiming for the head is usually the most effective method.
Python 357
Attack | Range | Accuracy | Control | Auto Fire | Capacity | Mobility |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
78.5 (-3.5 – 3.5) | 49.2 | 84.3 | 59.9 | 5.56 | 6 | 86.7 |
The Python 357, like the Raging Judge 28, is a revolver, which results in the need for a very conscious effort to aim accurately in order to rack up damage. Unlike faster pistols, these two weapons require longer cool-down periods in which you should be actively aiming for the head and/or upper body in order to maximize your damage output. While the Python 357 has lower damage per shot, its higher fire rate and accuracy make it more desirable at longer ranges.

Tips
• The Raging Judge 28 has impressive potential damage, however this is most effective when in very close proximity to your target. You should always push hard when attempting to secure a kill with this weapon; where aiming for the head will help to maximize your damage output in these situations.

• The Raging Judge 28 has relatively low capacity, and with such a long reload animation, you should be extremely careful when attempting to secure kills whilst low on ammunition. Ensuring that you are either near full or are fully reloaded before engaging enemies can be very beneficial.

Trivia
• Despite being the original weapon, the Raging Judge 28 was temporarily made available in a red ticket mystery box, as opposed to its cosmetic variant, the Raging Angelo 28, which was available in a blue ticket mystery box. This goes against the trend of variants being more costly in general.

• The Raging Judge 28 was the second secondary weapon to be released which fires shotgun rounds, with the first being the Winchester M1887S. As such, it shows similarities to actual shotguns; shooting multiple shells per round, and having dramatically increased damage at close range.
