A mini-SMG designed and manufactured by Steyr, a major Austrian gun manufacturer. Although small enough to hide inside clothing, it provides excellent fire power. It has better-than-usual accuracy considering its short barrel length due to the closed bolt action mechanism.
  — Weapon Description

The TMP (Tactical Machine Pistol) is a Secondary first introduced in the 04-14-11 Content Update.

Overview[]

The TMP is a fully automatic machine pistol equipped with 15 rounds, making it exceptionally useful for close range combat and swiftly becoming ineffective as distance increases. It is an extremely user-friendly weapon, utilizing its almost non-existent recoil for accurate shots on close-range targets. The 30 total rounds are expended quickly, so the TMP should only be used in dire situations. Given its longer Draw Speed for a Secondary, the TMP is lost in favor among Pointman and Rifleman to pistols. However, the fierce Damage and Rate of Fire of the TMP makes it the go-to weapon for Free-to-Play Snipers, giving the normally fragile class a chance of survival in close quarters encounters.

Variants[]

Tips[]

  • The Steyr TMP has an erratic recoil pattern. The crosshair will shift from side to side if no control is used while spraying. The Rate of fire is mediocre and crosshair on the TMP is quite large, making it hard to use anywhere beyond CQC (Close quarters combat).

Notable Comparisons[]

The TMP, along with the MK23 SOCOM and the CZ75 are the only three permanent non capsule secondary weapons in ijji AVA. Of the three, the TMP boasts the highest firerate and shares the same high mobility with the CZ75. However, the TMP also has the lowest damage of the three the lowest accuracy and the lowest stability. Still, given its Rate of Fire, the TMP has a fairly high Damage Per Second stat and is perfect for players who enjoy playing aggressively.

It may sound strange, but in theory the Stechkin APS could be a good alternative for the TMP for players who do not have the Euros or correct rank to purchase it. The Stechkin APS has the same range, accuracy, and stability of the TMP, and even has 5 more bullets in the magazine compared to the TMP. The only problem in purchasing the Stechkin APS is that it can only be bought in expendable increments of 2,700 Euros, while the TMP can be only be bought permanently for 25,000 Euros on top of its constant repair costs and higher rank requirement. However, the Stechkin APS has less damage , lower mobility compared to the TMP. Overall, if a player wants to get a clue how the TMP functions, they should first try the Stechkin APS.

Trivia[]

  • The TMP, along with the MK23 SOCOM and the CZ75 are the only three permanent non capsule secondary weapons in ijji AVA
  • All four members of the renouned USA team "DefKoN" were equipped with a TMP during the IeSF International AvA Tournament.
  • Though unrelated to AVA, the character "HUNK" from the acclaimed videogame series "Resident Evil" uses a customized version of the TMP as his weapon of choice.
